Me & My Dress

This is a nice picture of my dress. It's a Maggie Sottero. It was big and long and poufy, but had it altered to remove most of the train and the crinoline effectively turning it into an A-line. The alterations were recommended by the tailor, and I think this was a great way to go. The dress was so much lighter after getting rid of that fabric, and I think the A-line shape is very flattering and elegant than some princessy poufy thing. It's a 2 piece dress with a lace-up corset back. I chose it because of the swirly pattern on the corset and around the hem. The veil and tiara came from eBay. Yes, I wore a tiara. Why? Because I could! And I went for the veil to hide the Old Navy tank top tan lines on my back that I got from working on the farm this summer. Shoes... Alexia: What are you going to wear for shoes? Me: Do you remember when we ate at that Waffle House in Tennessee and afterwards went to that skanky "shoe sale" in that place next door? Alexia: I LOVE Waffle House. They make the best damn homefries. Me: I KNOW. Long live the south! Anyway, at that skanky shoe thing I picked up a pair of Easy Spirit silvery sandals for $5. I'm wearing those.
